What we mean by the words we use

Robotics vocabulary is used loosely across the industry. These are the definitions this site holds itself to.

Platform
In HumanForm Labs usage, 'platform' means the HumanForm Control Plane software. It is currently v0 and in development. Where the word appears next to a robot, it means the robot model.
Control plane
The layer that assigns tasks, handles interventions, records evidence, and tracks reliability across robots from different manufacturers. It does not replace an OEM's low-level control stack.
Deployable
A system that can be purchased or leased today with a clear regulatory path for the intended use. Deployable is a market statement about the system, not a statement that HumanForm Labs has integrated it.
Supported
A system HumanForm Labs can deploy and operate through the control plane. Support requires at least Lab validated status.
Production validated (status 1)
Connected and operating at a customer site with a named owner and a recorded evidence date.
Lab validated (status 2)
Connected and tested by HumanForm Labs outside a customer site. Not yet proven in production.
Partner enabled (status 3)
A formal route to the system exists through the manufacturer or an operator, but integration is pending or customer-specific.
Research only (status 4)
The entry reflects public market research. HumanForm Labs has not validated an integration or established a commercial route for the system.
Partner
An organization with a signed, permissioned relationship with HumanForm Labs. Research into a manufacturer's channel program is not a partnership.
Uptime
The share of scheduled operating time a unit was available for work, measured from the operating record. HumanForm Labs publishes no uptime figure and offers no contracted uptime today.
Intervention
Any human action taken to unblock, correct, or stop a robot task. Interventions are counted per task and recorded in the evidence store.
Evidence pack
An export of tasks, interventions, incidents, and readings for a site and date range. It is a record, not a certification or audit opinion.
